So far I’ve used the Ultra for roughly 15 hours in a few different use cases. My only accessory is the mobile dock which is fantastic and easy to use. I had to do a firmware update for the mobile dock to get it to work with my switch 2. My ultra appears to have arrived with the latest firmware. iPhone Pro Max 16: Works great directly connected to the iPhone, or through the mobile dock. I’ve used it to watch a few hours of YouTube without Spacewalker, and to watch Prime Video with Spacewalker. Fullscreen is bright with crisp quality, and indoors I tend to not use max brightness because it is too bright. Outdoors max brightness is enough to be able to watch while walking and having the lens shade turned off. If walking towards the sun it was a bit difficult to see finer details unless I turned the lens shade on, but I usually just put my hands over my eyes really quick just to see a detail in the image. I did 13000 steps before the iPhone battery hit 20% while walking through neighborhoods. I was able to fully enjoy the shows I was watching while not ever tripping over anything despite watching on full screen the whole time (still need to test pinning the video in the corner since I couldn’t figure out how to do that yet). No motion sickness despite me being someone who is highly susceptible to motion sickness. I even bob my head to music and the screen bounces with it without any dizziness. While the sound quality is surprisingly good for the glasses, I found it preferable to wear airpods when playing videos so I could easily pause the video. Pausing in Spacewalker is mess without airpods since it makes the cursor stuck on the screen unless you go in and out of fullscreen mode. Much easier to pause and restart with airpods. I also played 4 hours of Xbox Cloud Gaming (playing Hollow Knight Silksong) and it worked seemlessly once I change my router to use a less crowded wireless channel. The game requires lots of precision and I’ve been able to clear multiple bosses using the Viture x 8BitDo pro controller. I am floored that I can play a game like this for hours off of a phone through the cloud. Graphics look sharp (better than a switch screen and latency is very low. Most of my time playing was while lying on my back in bed which was quite comfortable. Switch 2: Worked great with the mobile dock after updating firmware. Screen is surprisingly crisp. Looks better than the Switch 2 display. Sounds great through the glasses. Pretty much the only way I’ll play the Switch 2 from now on since the setup is very portable and the mobile dock battery is 2.5x larger than the Switch 2. I have my switch docked to a 4k OLED TV, but having the screen perfectly fill my vision and being able to play while lying down makes these glasses the superior way to play. PC Usage: Didn’t spend too long using PC, but it was easy enough read the instructions on how to update the firmware through the glasses. Text isn’t blurry, screen looks like 1080p monitor. Could see myself using these glasses as a primary monitor and buying a micro PC instead of using a laptop. Didn’t attempt to game on PC with it, since I don’t play games on my laptop and my desktop doesn’t support the device without an adapter. Pros: Bright, high quality display Good Sound Magnetic cable reduces risk of breaking glasses (I yanked the cable hard on accident when I sat up in bed and had my hand on the cable, but the cable just safely popped off the side) No built-in battery (nice to not have to charge it) Spacewalker connects easily with bluetooth controller every time 4.0 Diopters – Not as good as 6.0, but works great for me since my eyes are -4.0 so I can set it quickly No motion sickness No overheating Comfortable Cons: No button to pause and start media (e.g. need to use AirPods for this) Doesn’t appear to support more than 0DoF without accessories (I don’t think I need 3 or 6DoF for my use cases) When adjusting the lens angle, the creaking the plastic makes sounds like the quality one would expect from a toy found in a cereal box. I accidently adjust it all the time whenever I pickup the glasses, but it is easy enough to correct and it never adjusts while on my face so not too big of a deal. Can’t comment on following yet: 3DoF/6DoF (doesn’t seem too relevant to me because I can’t see well enough to use these glasses as a secondary monitor since I am so blind I can’t see my actual monitor without glasses) Pinned videos on Spacewalker (was not intuitive, will try again next time I am home) Neckband features XR adapter features Camera (no idea how to use) Microphone (no idea how to use) tl;dr Super impressed and highly recommend for 0DoF iPhone/Switch2/PC users. Hopefully updates makes Spacewalker less clunky or easier to pause without AirPods. Given 3/6DoF is processed offboard through software, I have my doubts it will work without jittering, but I think the product is worth purchasing even if it didn’t support 3/6DoF. I’ve experienced perfect 6DoF from using a HaloLens2, and I just can’t imagine these glasses achieving anything close to that since 6DoF isn’t natively onboard. That being said, I prefer the lightweight compact nature of these glasses over having perfect 6DoF. Of course these could have perfect 6DoF, I have yet to test that myself.
