That 14900kf may give you problems, make sure to get the latest bios and even then you may need to learn how to undervolt it properly!

  2. Nicole Kruse · 3 weeks ago

Nice! Reminds me of when I built my first rig for Fallout 4 in 2016. Z-170A, i5-6500, R9 390, and only a HDD. Even had a CD drive.

Idk if that case has tempered glass or not. But i see that floor.

  6. Stefanie Schuster · 3 weeks ago

Dude that thing is like 6 months away. And add another month or two if availability doesn’t even like you at all. And then by then, what if you just waited for the 6090? He ended up not playing battlefield 6 lol.

  7. Gabriella Diaz · 3 weeks ago

The 14900k is the worst CPU I’ve ever bought. Had to replace it twice already, the 2nd one had the microcode updates from the moment it went in and it still degraded and failed within 8 months. Going with AMD next time

  8. Jessica Grant · 3 weeks ago

Being single here is more important than working in cybersec IMO. Cuz I work in wholesale SI for $1k/mo (it’s above average by Ukraine standards) and you can see my rig in flair, but my friend on the same salary but with GF just upgraded to 3600 and 2070.

Excellent. Good luck brother, follow the instructions well and give it proper maintenance.

  12. Zachary Green · 3 weeks ago

Forgot to mention: I got the cpu from a friend working in Intel for 250$ (50% from MSRP) EDIT: everyone are talking about the problems with the intel CPUs, well my friend from intel is a principal engineer of the cpu architecture and performance from the logic design side, I jokingly blamed him for the burning CPUs, he said “no comment”

    1. Grace Payne · 3 weeks ago

Yes, this is an important point. My cpu failed after a year on a bios which I thought had this fix. Symptoms: cpu always works on 800 MHz instead of 3.2 Ghz, and everything is slow, games are in 10 fps

    2. Olivia Turner · 3 weeks ago

I have CompTIA certifications (LET ME IN INTEL!!!!) 😂

Can you kick your friend at Intel in the balls for me for giving amd a monopoly?

    4. Yoko Saijo · 1 week ago

Intel CPU’s also come with a free copy of BF6, so hopefully nobody here tries to criticize you for not paying $500 for a 9800X3D.

      1. Rachel Long · 1 week ago

The 5080 comes with Borderlands 4, good time to choose these components!

      2. Eden Jackson · 1 week ago

Where I’m from, the 9800x3d costs the same as the 14900kf, and it’s 400$ (converted to usd)

        1. Dean Wells · 1 week ago

$400….$500….you are splitting hairs here…..he got the intel for $250 and it comes with a free copy of BF6

      3. Rose Daniels · 1 week ago

Damn is that what those go for? I got my 7800x3d with mobo and ram as a bundle for $450 all included

      4. Lina Geisler · 1 week ago

Why are 9800X3D so expensive in murica? In Germany it’s 450.

      5. Ellie Jenkins · 1 week ago

You’d probably be better off down the line with the 9800X3D because of the lower power usage and AM5 upgrade guarenteed until 2027.

    5. Harper Gardner · 1 week ago

still not worth it lmao sorry intel is just garbage too hot too much power draw too little fps.

    6. Levi Heim · 5 days ago

Ok yeah I can safely say I’d do the exact same thing

      1. Zachary Green · 4 days ago

Intel employees can buy intel cpus for 50% off MSRP, so it was 250$ for me, i have friends working in Nvidia but unfortunately the GPU shop was empty (everyone bought from it), so i bought it in regular price

First thing I thought when I saw this pic is wtf would you go intel but that makes sense. Glad I scrolled down.

      1. Johanna Jäger · 23 hours ago

It doesn’t. It’s a brand new build you’re going to have for years. Sell the Intel CPU and do the job right.

    1. Timothy West · 1 week ago

Funny enough the system requirements for BF6 are surprisingly low so you don’t even need a new computer in order to play…..why is EA suddenly being nice?

  14. Gavin Lawrence · 3 weeks ago

Yep, should be all set on upgrades for a few years I’d say.

  15. Chloé Georges · 3 weeks ago

    1. Émilie Thomas · 2 weeks ago

A 9800 isn’t going to degrade and crash everyone you play a game though, that’s what I was getting at

      1. Chloe Hoffman · 2 weeks ago

You didn’t have your bios settings right locking voltages prevents the damage regardless of the micro code. You can also Google how the 9800s are in fact degrading due to aggressive boost profiles and pbo settings

        1. Malu Bruns · 2 weeks ago

I had everything set manually and still rma’d multiple CPUs. Voltages and microcodes didn’t fix the underlying issues

  23. Oscar Ehlers · 3 weeks ago

What made you choose Intel ? I’m always curious about this, as typically when it’s like for like (as in price) people would pick the most performant, and that’s very much AMD X3D. Intel uses loads more power for less performance. EDIT n/m just seen other comment that said you got it for half price.

My gaming laptop all of a sudden became ass to use after a firmware update. I tried to roll back, format, reinstall, all the tricks. Was on the brink of buying a new PC when I found out it had started to prioritize main board graphics which had to be changed in bios.

          1. Ryder Thomas · 4 days ago

This is exactly what happened to me. I had been running games fine for years at 1440p 100-200fps on my 165hz monitor and after doing some driver and bios updates my performance was trash because it was finally prioritising the intel gpu instead of my rtx 3070.

          1. Michael Schulze · 3 days ago

Rtx 3070 with i7-12700k. Hoping to hold off upgrading for a few more years. I don’t play many brand new games, infact the only game I’m playing recently isn’t graphically demanding, although its not the best optimised.

          4. Natalia Ruiz · 3 days ago

3070 is good for at least another 6 ish years On optimized games

          5. Jonah Bailey · 3 days ago

Vram will be the biggest limitation i think.

          6. Anna Turner · 3 days ago

3070 has 8gb of vram right? thats enough for most 1440p gaming, especially fps games, or more optimized games If it gets to a vram limitation, switch to 1080p (i know its ugly, but just save for a new gpu if its really bad, I heard 5070s in the states are getting cheaper) Probably won’t get to a vram limitation; I used to use a gtx 960 with 2gb vram, and it could do max settings at 60fps on war thunder and other games You’ll be fine.. probably..

Assuming the board was somehow dirt cheap, but Intel boards historically are not dirt cheap. In any case, the issues with raptor lake and raptor lake refresh would prevent me from buying it at most prices. For $400-500$ total between board and motherboard, you could get a 9700x or better and it’ll be just as good for gaming. Granted, if op also values the mt performance, then yeah, $250 for a 14900kf is tough to beat.

    1. Lucas Johnston · 1 week ago

He likely does based on his business but I’m not one to speak for op. Honestly my 14900k has been rock solid thankfully. That said I made sure I hunted down and knocked on wood lol. I would be lying if I said I wasn’t nervous but not a single crash in the almost 2 years I have had it

    1. Zachary Green · 2 weeks ago

It’s easier when you know someone inside the industry who can vouch for you.
Cyber security is a vast field, i would start by deciding which field do you want to work at (offensive, Incident response, GRC etc…), I’m working as a security architect in one of the big4 and a CISSP certified. I have to say – cybersecurity is not an entry level job, first get experience in IT, networking and applications. My best advice for you is to start in a helpdesk job, befriending the security team and growing in the company from there, join r/securitycareeradvice for guidance.
      Good Luck!

  58. Ludwig Arndt · 1 week ago

For an I9 with a 5080 I think you legitimately will need a 1200w psu. Other than that, looks amazing dude!

    1. Sadie Gray · 1 week ago

Surprisingly the 5080 from my experience is impressively efficient, especially when using DLSS quality at 4k. My Founders 5080 draws about 240 – 280 W even with a boost clock up to 3100 MHz. Native 4k about 320 at most. Not sure the power draw of the i9 but my 9900x + 5080 still leaves me with decent overhead with my 1000w psu.

  68. Yoko Shimada · 1 week ago

At the risk of being pedantic and feeling mischievous today. What are you going to play it on, I don’t see a monitor. 😁

  69. Elijah Hicks · 1 week ago

If two people who make 100k live together, you genuinely don’t believe they make more money and live better than you…are you slow?

  70. Amelia Reyes · 1 week ago

Ha.i did the same thing. Almost identical parts. I played the beta and I said shit. I need to do the upgrade I’ve been wanting for a while. Built a new PC and bought a 4K OLED monitor.

  71. Paul Heller · 1 week ago

Almost identical to mine except I only got an i7 processor.

  72. Jude Shaw · 1 week ago

Yeah, battlefield 6 gave my pc a run for its money and I have a pretty good pc. No stuttering thankfully but I have never had a game make my cpu go 80+ usage and heat 😅

  73. Rachel Larson · 1 week ago

Make sure to get a CPU contact frame too. Might be worth it to spend an extra $10

  74. Liliana Hudson · 1 week ago

Intel is dead 5 years ago… 9800X3D or nothing to play Battlefield 6 kid

  75. Wyatt Mcdonald · 1 week ago

damnit, wish I went for the WiFi 7 version. I’ve only got 6E and it would have been nice to get the multi-band support

  76. Tessa Schmidt · 1 week ago

Why are people giving him shit? Let him enjoy his rig ffs! Who cares if he decided to get an Intel over an AMD. EDIT: I’m a hardware engineer at Google, and being in IT definitely helps pay for the hobby! Congrats man!

    1. Hiromi Seki · 1 week ago

No one’s giving him shir, it’s just Intel CPUs are terrible now, it’s more about safety/bang for ur buck than being fanboys. Tho, he did say he got it for $250 so ig who wouldn’t take that deal? Hopefully it treats him well, not sure if they fixed the overheating issues yet….

    2. Apolline Lafon · 1 week ago

because why would you buy a CPU WITH A KNOWN defect? It’s not an AMD VS Intel thing.

  77. Emilia Wade · 1 week ago

Nice bro. Updated mine as well after 9 years.
Got a nice deal on a Asus astral OC

  78. Claire Hayes · 1 week ago

Someone wrote Battlefield also runs on a 980

  79. Ian Lambert · 1 week ago

I wanna build a new pc for battlefield 6 & gta 6, but I just don’t know yet if I’m actually going to play the pc enough to grant how much im gonna drop on the pc. That’s how I’m feeling with my current pc. I have no real incentive to upgrade but I also don’t want to upgrade for two games, nor do I want to play on console. Guess I may have to bite the bullet. It will cost me about $1100 including a bundle from micro center that includes 32gb ddr5, Ryzen 7600X and a ASUS tuf motherboard plus the GPU but it’s not in the combo. I’m thinking of looking at the Radeon 9070 XT triple swift. Goal is 1440p minimum. Been on 1080p with a 144hz monitor since idk 2018

  80. Bastien Fleury · 1 week ago

Enjoy my friend!!, post the final result pls

  81. Salomé Lamy · 1 week ago

I am also thinking of upgrading for BF6, but my GPU runs it fine, and it doesn’t look crap on lowest settings. I get like 120-200fps depending on map and location.
    (7900x + RTX 2080s)

  82. Hisae Kawagoe · 1 week ago

Never build a PC just for a single game. You’d limit yourself for what you can get for the money. Other than that, good luck!

    1. Holly Schulte · 1 week ago

either know someone or go get a CS degree from a state college and work your way toward it over 5-10 years if you can’t take the nepo shortcut

  83. Adam Hopkins · 1 week ago

Hell yeah (can I continue this or is that cheating?)

  84. Hudson Gonzales · 1 week ago

Wait til you realize you can overclock and undervolt the GPU to use less power but get basically 4090 levels of raw performance and it takes like 5 minutes. Excellent GPU

  85. Paul Besnard · 1 week ago

everyone asking how you got all these, i’m trying to find out how you got into cyber security

  88. Willow Graves · 6 days ago

Man lived dangerously with the intel cpu and a 5080. Make sure to seat the 12v power into the 5080 securely and then double secure it by pushing it in farther. Me personally, I would’ve gone with a ryzen chip but solid build

  89. Elsa Meier · 6 days ago

Bad choice to go with Intel due to stability and overheating issue! Hence, you should’ve gone with AMD X870E mobo and Ryzen 9 9950X3D instead.

  90. Hannah Welch · 6 days ago

I really wish people would stop believing they need that fastest cpu my gpu is the breadwinner here

  91. Kimberly Richards · 5 days ago

Any particular reason for a Raptor Lake chip?

Are you sure it wasn’t 37 min ago these things matter.

  93. Lincoln Knight · 5 days ago

Let’s hope they fix the cheater problem which was already in the open beta. Otherwise enjoy looking at very smooth death cams

  94. Christian Raynaud · 5 days ago

If you always wait for something better, you’ll never build at all. Something better is basically always 6 months away, or less.

    1. Sienna Kim · 5 days ago

by the time the supers are in stock at msrp, it would be 6 months away from RTX 6000 release and the waiting cycle continues

  95. Tobias Wilke · 5 days ago

Facts. I took some freelance work to pay for my wedding and ended up with money left over so got a 5070.

  99. Chloe Cruz · 3 days ago

Or you can do the method that intel recommends and not void your warranty but you do you

    1. Georgia Harris · 3 days ago

Nah bro, whenever my car is broken I don’t take it to a mechanic I just stick a screwdriver in somewhere, lower the voltage and hope/pray it works well Surely it’s the same for CPUs?

      1. Mathilde Weiß · 3 days ago

Don’t forget to smack it around a little bit

      2. Vincent Schüler · 3 days ago

Do you really know that little about processors?
Did you really buy a k series processor just to run it stock? Do you even change your own oil?

        1. Gemma Lawson · 3 days ago

No I’m completely ignorant daddy, tell me Tell me how to not run it stock? Tell me how to change my own oil? Tell me how to know more about processors? Tell me daddy, elucidate me daddy, spank me daddy

Since when does lowering voltage void warranty?

      1. Yamato Toda · 3 days ago

It popped up for me in xtu. Could you argue it and likely win? Yes. Is it worth it when there is a way to make it stable and not have to fight it? No.

  100. Yasuko Okada · 3 days ago

Welcome to the party bro! I got myself an upgrade for bf6 too.

  101. Sofia Herold · 2 days ago

Love it, dude! Every PC I’ve purchased or built over the years has been because a new BF was coming out. Did it for BF2, BF3, BF1, and 2042. Wish I could build one for this BF6 release, but funds aren’t there this time around. And my last build was a 3080 Ti that still does just fine (handled beta just fine at ultra settings at 1440p). Guess I’ll wait for the 6000 series. See you on the battlefield!

    1. Alice Bernard · 2 days ago

my 2080ti was struggling, time to upgrade !

  102. Lotte Prinz · 2 days ago

I have simalar setup but with 9800 x 3d and it ran beautifully in 4k on the beta

  103. Bruno Lehnert · 1 day ago

BF6 is so fun! Congrats on the ballin computer, it will look amazing on it!

  104. Kimberly Gregory · 1 day ago

Broo -11 downvotes😭😭wtf i just proved my point

  105. Leo Henderson · 15 hours ago

This brings me a nostalgic feeling. I build my first pc back in 2011 for bf3 launch! I had i5-2500k and nvidia 560ti build back then 😀
