In this little test video, i present how the full game Monster Hunter Wilds at its current version 1.020, is depending on CPU calculation/processing power and bottlenecked by it.
Capcom has announced in their latest Directors Letter, that the performance is depending on the CPU and its Bottleneck, with hinting that any performance improvement is mostly CPU related.
To test how much the games performance is hold back by that Bottleneck with CPU calculation/processing powers, different levels are tested that represent different CPU generations and their calculation/processing powers.
**How to test the CPU-Bottleneck based on CPU-Calculation performance alone?**
To assure no other system-components do affect the CPU-Bottleneck like RAM-DDR Type, PCIe Generation
or PCIe-Lane limitation for the GPU, the same System will be used but the CPU will be clocked to the same
level of performance as the reference CPU’s.
**How is the CPU performance score determet?**
The performance of the CPU is/was measured by the 1 minute Singlethread Benchmark Score
of the „System-Meeter-Bar“, performed by CPU separately. The SMB-Benchmark measures how often a
Specific list of operations, calculations and commands can be performed in a certain amount of time.
**What is the “System-Meeter-Bar” (SMB)?**
The SMB is a system data collection tool, system overview tool, benchmark and system report tool all in one.
You can use it for displaying an overview of your system, finding issues or testing the stability of your
system via the built-in benchmark tool, no matter where its used.

**What is the test-system?**
CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 9900X (UC/OC)
Mobo: Asus Prime X670E Pro Wifi – BV:3265
RAM: 64GB (4x16GB) @ CL30 6000MT/s MCLK = UCLK
GPU: AMD Sapphire RX7900XTX Nitro+
NVMe: WD Black SN850X
OS: Windows 11 Pro 64bit 24H2
Screen: 1080P – 1920×1080
**What are the game settings for the test?**
To properly test the game with its native CPU-Bottleneck and GPU utilization, the test is based on native rendering with no upscaling and no frame generation.
1080P Native Rendering – 100% Render-Scaling – NO FSR/Framegeneration – Max Settings – High Raytracing

Capcom did not lie about the massive bottleneck that the CPU is putting on the game. If you want the best performance for this game you should use a CPU of the current generation or you will have quite the cut performance, no matter the hardware.
