Problème DirectX 12 avec un i9-13900K ?

Je viens d’acheter Borderlands 4, et impossible de lancer le jeu sans qu’une fenêtre m’annonce : « DirectX 12 is not supported on your system. Try running without the -dx12 or -d3d12 command line argument ».

I saw other comments complaining of this issue also on win10. I wonder if win11 fixes it. I have seen no confirmation of this. But its an option to consider if youd like.

I think it’s a Windows issue. My specs exceed the game requirements, and i’m running DX12. Yet i still get that error message. I’m running an old version of Windows 10. I just ordered a copy of Windows 11 Pro. I will be installing it soon. If that fixes the issue, i will let everyone know.

Lol. Saw you in the comments of the video from that guy with a very heavy accent. I think we’re screwed unless the devs add support for lower versions of directX. I hate Unreal Engine 5 so much.

The Indian guy telling everyone to run it on DirectX 11?

I’m having the same issue. I put in a support ticket and only got an auto-reply with a bunch of stuff that I already tried including verifying integrity of the game files, reinstalling the game, updating drivers, checking dxdiag, disabling overlays, etc. Nothing has worked so far. I also tried running other games with dx12 and they function fine, so I’m still unsure as to what this error is about. One thing I did see people mention under the same issue with other games is to check dxdiag to see if your drivers actually support dx12 and don’t just say that you’re Directx version is Directx 12. It should say under Display > Drivers > Features what versions are supported. I have 12\_1 and 12\_0. Maybe that’s not enough for BL4? It might be worth it to check on your end.

I have the same issue and yes, that’s it. BL4 uses DirectX 12 Ultimate which is 12_2. So we’re fucked unless Gearbox takes notice and decides to add support for lower feature levels. It’s those little details that fuck you in the end. Really wanted to play it. Oh well. Refund.

Damn, that sucks. Thanks for confirming though. I suppose it is better knowing what’s going wrong than being left in the dark by Gearbox support.

I had that problem. Upgrading to Windows 11 fixed it. I got a dvd of Windows 11 Pro off Ebay for like $28.

It appears Borderlands 4 needs DirectX 12\_2, which requires Windows 10 22h2 and not any of the older versions of Windows 10 will work. Unfortunately for me, Windows Update cannot update my machine from 1909 to 22h2. I have tried every trick known including the ISO creator and they all fail with useless error messages. I don’t hold out much hope to upgrade in-place to Windows 11 if it can’t update 10 to the latest version. I just can’t see wiping out my machine just to play one game.

I don’t understand directing malice towards a person who’s upset they cannot play a game they cannot play 70 dollars for despite having a machine matching the listed specifications. The blame should fall on the developers for misleading the consumer and not the customer who’s only sin is believing what was listed on the store’s page

Curious. I know with Fortnite (also UE5) there is an issue with DX12. I played on an older system (i7-6700k, GTX 1070) for a year, game crashed a handful of times. A year ago I bought a system with i9-14900KF, RTX 4070TS. In the first 3 months, game crashed an average of 3 times a day. Then I saw a article while troubleshooting, put out by Epic, that there is a known issue with my CPU and DX12 (I think its 13th and 14th gen i9, maybe i7 as well). I would bet this issue also extends to any UE5 game with DX12 enabled and not just limited to Fortnite. With that issue known, I’d imagine a game dev can prevent a user from enabling DX12 on a game where the hardware (our CPU in this case) causes a known issue (crash). That’s my best guess, because AFAIK, this issue hasn’t been resolved.
