Who buys? It’s either a spoiled kid who manipulated their parents to buy it for them, or someone who has lots of money and just wants to spend it.

I have a 9800x3D, 5090, 64GB ram, 4+4TB SSD, 1000w PSU, and AIO, but I game on a Samsung G9 OLED @ 240Hz. The build isn’t wildly overkill, but i would say it’s the most any normal person would ever need. I went 5090 mainly because I really wanted the 3090 when it came out as a milestone reward for career achievements at the time and had been a little disappointed I couldn’t get one way back then. So recently when the ASUS TUF hit the $2k USD mark, I figured I’d get it instead since I really like the TUF design and the 5080 TUF only has an OC model selling for $1600. 5090 is overkill for sure, but it checks off a goal I’d wanted for a while and makes me happy, and if I upgrade in the next 6 years, it’ll be too soon lol But if you’re wondering why someone buys high end specs, perhaps I was able to give some insight. Cheers.
